WHAT IS MIGRAINE & HEADACHE PROTOCOL

Migraine and headache pain often originates from tension, inflammation, and restricted circulation in the neck, shoulders, scalp, and jaw.

Our Migraine & Headache Protocol is a focused 30-minute treatment designed to relieve tension in the areas most commonly associated with headaches and migraines. By combining therapeutic massage with supportive techniques such as heat, cold, pressure point therapy, and calming aromatherapy, this session helps ease muscular tension while supporting nervous system regulation.

The treatment focuses on the shoulders, neck, jaw, face, and scalp while you remain comfortably positioned face-up. Your therapist may incorporate shiatsu pressure points, contrasting heat and cold therapy, and essential oils like lavender or peppermint to encourage circulation, reduce inflammation, and provide targeted relief.

Each session is completely customizable, meaning any element can be adjusted or omitted depending on your preferences or sensitivities.

This focused treatment can also be added onto longer massage sessions, extending a 60-minute massage to 90 minutes or a 90-minute massage to 120 minutes for deeper therapeutic work.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your session begins with a brief conversation about your symptoms, triggers, and areas of discomfort so your therapist can tailor the treatment to your needs.

During the session, you will remain comfortably lying face-up while your therapist focuses on areas that commonly contribute to headache and migraine discomfort, including:

  • Shoulders

  • Neck

  • Jaw (TMJ area)

  • Face

  • Scalp

Your therapist may incorporate:

  • Contrasting heat and cold therapies using towels, stones, or specialized tools

  • Targeted shiatsu pressure points known to support headache relief

  • Essential oils such as lavender or peppermint to encourage relaxation and reduce tension

Pressure levels, aromatherapy, and temperature therapies are all adjusted to your comfort level. If you prefer to avoid oils, heat, or cold therapy, your therapist will easily adapt the session.

The goal is to create a deeply calming experience that supports both muscular release and nervous system regulation.
