Touch with loving intent is essential for every person to thrive. That means all bodies are deserving of healing touch - no matter their size, shape, texture, age, or gender expression. This belief has been rooted in my massage practice since I was first licensed in 2014.
When I entered massage school with Miller-Motte Technical Institute of Cary, NC in 2013, massage was more of a means to an end. Bodywork seemed like a good trade to bolster me financially while I worked towards a Bachelor's degree. Little did I know this trade would become my career, and it would bolster me through more than just financial means, but emotional and spiritual hardships as well.
I have worked in private day spas, held my own practice, and I have worked in Ayurvedic bodywork clinics where I learned Ayurvedic massage and healing techniques from Ayurvedic practitioners. No matter where I am practicing massage, or the massage modality I am performing, my intention is to assist my client in their personal healing process.
The bodywork I give has evolved over time slightly, but has always revolved around deep intentional strokes related to Ayurvedic work and deep tissue massage, effective stretching related to sports massage and Thai massage, trigger point therapy, Reiki related work, and biodynamic cranial sacral holds. I love working with athletes and people with chronic physical pain due to old injuries or medical issues, such as (but not limited to) fibromyalgia. Creating a “healing plan” with repeat clients is my ultimate goal.
My work is never just dealing with the physical body; I aim to get in touch with you as a whole person. Energy work is very special to me, and I aim to create a trusting bond with my clients where I can express what I feel their body is trying to say. This physical/emotional expression is referred to as Somatic patterning, where it is believed the body reflects our emotional world. It can tell our story.
All bodies are welcome on my table and I am happy to make space for you!
