NC License #09643

Piper Ellis

My path to becoming a massage therapist began as a search for personal wellness.  While in college I began a yoga practice that continues today. After college I continued my path to wellness learning more about nutrition, herbal supplements, and bodywork. I began to receive massage on a regular basis and study various techniques. At this point my curiosity and personal path to wellness began to blossom into a personal hobby. I began to attend classes and seminars to expand my own knowledge.

After moving to Boone I met two amazing therapist who soon became mentors encouraging me to peruse my licence as a massage and bodywork therapist.  I attended The Whole You School of Massage therapy & received my licence in 2009. Since receiving my massage therapy licence I have also completed the DONA International requirements for Birth & Postpartum Doula.
I have also continued my education through classes in various Myofascial Therapy techniques.

My favorite massage to give is a 90 minute massage using essential oils. Each massage is custom to the client receiving the massage & their needs. This amount of time gives the client time to relax & release tension in the mind & body.

Pregnancy Massage:  I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and I had the pleasure of receiving a side lying massage from Piper.  This is my 2nd pregnancy,  I have received many massages in, out and all along the way of pregnancy.

Piper felt completely at ease with the symptoms I was presenting,  talked to me about what her own intuition suggested,  which helped me and my body feel more at ease.  Her experience as a mother who's been through several pregnancies herself and back ground in the doula field make Piper the ideal massage therapist for those who are pregnant, wanting to convenience or are in postpartum.  I can't wait to recommend her to my friends.  Thank you Piper for creating such a nurturing experience.

My experiences at the are Collective at Shear Shakti are always amazing because Piper Ellis is a true healer. This isn't a run-of-the-mill massage. Piper takes the time to know her client's needs and to get feedback throughout the process. She is intuitive, sensitive, and supportive. I have gone to her for a range of reasons from relaxation and stress relief to debilitating muscle pain. In any situation, I've left feeling better. Piper has taken the time to show me stretches to help my overall health and specific ailments. Piper keeps up with current trends and training, but she appreciates tradition. She creates a genuine relationship with her clients because she's truly interested. Shear Shakti seems to be a good home for Piper, and the staff there is always pleasant, helpful, and accommodating.
